Data from Aemet reveals that only the beginning of April 2011 surpassed current records, when thermometers reached 33 degrees in the capital of Segrià. This heatwave has significantly impacted the region, setting a historic precedent.
The town of Seròs stood out for recording the highest temperature in the province for the second consecutive day, reaching 30.5 degrees. This figure was only two tenths below Catalonia's maximum, registered in Vinebre at 30.7 degrees, according to the Catalan Meteorological Service.
Other municipalities such as Alcarràs (29.9º), Vallfogona de Balaguer (28.8º), Alfarràs (28.7º), and the city of Lleida itself (28.5º) also experienced near-summer temperatures. The heat extended to Pallars Jussà, with Sant Romà d’Abella recording 29º and La Pobla de Segur, 28.5º.
However, the weather forecast anticipates a drastic change for the weekend, with a significant drop in temperatures. Readings are expected to be between 15 and 20 degrees lower than those of recent days, with possible snowfall in the Pyrenees below 1,500 meters not ruled out.
