The initiative, coordinated by Octubre Cinema and part of the Som Cinema Festival, aims to support the development of Catalan short films connected to Lleida. The lab, taking place from October 21st to 25th, will provide tools to advance projects and connect them with the audiovisual industry.
The program includes script training, pitch preparation, and distribution strategies led by experts such as Gemma Pascual, Joel Munu, and Santiago Parra. The Lab/Pro seeks to strengthen scripts, deepen authorial vision, and prepare emerging creators to present their works to producers and industry professionals.
The selected projects are: "La matrona dels corbs" by Berta Torné and Alejandro Martí; "10 minuts" by Daniel Sarramona; "On neixen els camins" by Alexandra Subias Chimeno, and "Too match" by Mayra Teixidó.
Berta Torné and Alejandro Martí, film students at ESCAC, present "La matrona dels corbs", a genre project linked to folklore and regional memory. Daniel Sarramona, a screenwriter and director from Juneda, with training at ECCIT and ESCAC, already has his short film "El túnel de Montclar" in festival circuits.
Alexandra Subias Chimeno, a graduate in Audiovisual Communication from the Universitat Rovira i Virgili, has developed projects like "Humanes" and "Quan torna el silenci". Mayra Teixidó, a screenwriter and director from Lleida, has training in Hispanic Philology, Journalism, and Fantastic Cinema.
The CLAC day, open to the public on Saturday, October 24th at the Museu Morera, will discuss "Strategies for Catalan cinema to reach... very far" with Gerard Oms and Santiago Parra. The event, organized by Suggeriments with support from various institutions, will include screenings, talks, and a networking aperitif.
