From October 7 to 11, the 78th Frankfurt Book Fair hosts a substantial Catalan representation with 40 publishers participating in a joint stand under the slogan Catalonia, Land of Books; Barcelona, City of Literature.

The Frankfurt Book Fair, one of Europe's most important literary events, will feature a presence of 40 Catalan publishers. The stand, organized by the Catalan Institute for Cultural Industries (ICEC) through Catalan Arts, the Institut Ramon Llull (IRL), and the Barcelona City Council, with the collaboration of various sector associations and guilds, aims to promote and project Catalan literature internationally.
In addition to the 40 publishers at the collective stand, nearly 20 other publishing groups with their own stands will also attend the fair. The ICEC has produced an informational booklet for international professionals, and on October 7, a visit for 24 representatives of other Catalan publishers has been organized, along with an official reception hosted by the Generalitat's Delegation in Germany.
The Institut Ramon Llull (IRL) has arranged over 120 meetings with international publishers to promote the translation of Catalan works. The IRL will also participate in the professional session Translating Europe: The ENLit Network and its Support for Literary Translation and Translators, where European programs supporting literary translation will be presented. Furthermore, four titles by Catalan authors and illustrators have been selected for the prestigious international catalog The White Ravens.
The Frankfurt Book Fair is a key event for the publishing sector, where it is estimated that 80% of annual international author rights contracts are signed. Catalan presence at the fair has been growing in recent years, reflecting the importance of Barcelona as a publishing hub, accounting for over 50% of the Spanish publishing industry's production and revenue.
