Residents of Príncep de Viana street in Lleida complained about pavement renewal works carried out by the Generalitat during the night from Tuesday to Wednesday, citing noise and lack of prior information.

The Generalitat undertook these works to repair the pavement damaged by the construction of the new bus station. The Paeria (City Council) had announced last Friday that the works would begin on Tuesday at 9:00 PM, requiring the total closure of traffic between Ramon Berenguer IV square and Sant Ruf avenue.

"The Urbana told me they had received many calls from annoyed neighbors, but they couldn't do anything because the works were authorized, and they were done at night to avoid cutting off traffic during the day."

One resident had to call the Guàrdia Urbana (Local Police) at 3 AM to remove her car from the parking lot and go to the Emergency Room at Arnau de Vilanova hospital. The resident also complained that the officers told her that “patrols do not arrive flying”.
The signaling of road markings is expected to be completed today, occupying one lane between 9:15 AM and 4:30 PM. These works are part of the final stretch of the construction of the new bus station.
The new terminal, which represents an investment exceeding forty million euros, will feature 28 platforms and is expected to enter service before next spring. Lleida registers 1.4 million passengers annually across more than 120 bus lines.
