The Descobrim Lleida project, which aims to combine heritage, coexistence, and inclusion, begins its third edition with a significant increase in capacity. The Department of Social Action and Innovation has confirmed that around fifty places will be offered for each monthly cultural excursion.
These visits, which are completely free of charge, are specifically designed for individuals who may be in vulnerable situations. The initiative originally arose from a direct request by users of the Mariola Senior Center, who sought cultural activities.
The cultural agenda will run from October through May, encompassing a wide range of historical and social sites in the city of Lleida. Key locations scheduled for visits include the Templar Castle of Gardeny, the Medieval Walls, the Roman Domus (located at the Enric Granados Municipal Auditorium), and the Seu Vella Monumental Complex.
In addition to historical heritage, the program features visits to social and civic spaces, such as the Foundation's Social Kitchen, the Chapel of Sant Jaume (in Peu del Romeu), the Llotja, and the Sírius Personal Autonomy Center. The exhibition on the history of the railway in Lleida is also included.
