Firefighters rescued two individuals, one seriously injured, from a fire caused by a kitchen explosion in an apartment in Lleida during the early hours of Thursday, January 8.

The incident took place on the third floor of a building located at number 41 on Anselm Clavé street in the capital of Segrià. The alert was received at 5:48 a.m. after neighbors reported a loud detonation.
The rescue of the two affected people was carried out via the balcony. The seriously injured man was treated by the Medical Emergency System (SEM) and subsequently transferred to the Hospital de la Vall d'Hebron in Barcelona.
The Firefighters mobilized seven units to extinguish the fire and carry out inspection and ventilation tasks in the seven-story building. The SEM deployed four ambulances to the scene.
Although the explosion caused glass to fall onto the street and affected some interior partition walls, technicians confirmed that there was no structural damage to the building.
