A resident of Torrebesses has been arrested by the Mossos d'Esquadra after assaulting Mayor Mario Urrea over the termination of the social center bar's concession contract, according to police sources.

The events took place around 10:20 AM, when Mayor Mario Urrea communicated the decision to terminate the operating contract for the social center bar. The accused, partner of the concession holder, expressed his disagreement with the measure.
According to the town council, the contract termination is due to several breaches of the established conditions. During the discussion, the man allegedly punched the mayor and threatened both him and a councilor and the comptroller who were accompanying him at the time.
After the incident, the alleged assailant left the scene. The Mossos d'Esquadra received the complaint and located and arrested the man in the afternoon in the town of El Cogul.

"I suffered a minor contusion. It was notified within the legal timeframe, but he did not accept it."
