The Caldes de Malavella Local Police arrested a man on Wednesday, January 7, suspected of being responsible for up to 15 thefts inside vehicles in the municipality, following an operation that ended at the train platform.

The arrest occurred after a preventive surveillance officer spotted the suspect in the dirt parking area located on Avinguda Catalunya. The individual ignored the plainclothes officers' orders and attempted to flee, eventually being caught on the platform.
The man was taken to the police station charged with attempted aggravated theft inside vehicles and disobedience to authority. During the search, officers found false documentation, a mobile phone with images of other phones and computers, and various objects used to force vehicles, such as a balaclava, gloves, flashlight, and hammer.
Items allegedly stolen were also recovered, including portable batteries, headphones, chargers, jewelry, and a small quantity of hashish. Sub-inspector Xavi Muñoz noted that the operation responded to a localized increase in robberies.
