Six officers from the Blanes Local Police have been awarded the DANA 2024 Honorary Distinction by the Ministry of Interior for their voluntary work in emergency operations deployed in Valencia at the end of 2024.

The Blanes police officers volunteered to join the support contingent sent from various regions of Girona. Their intervention focused on municipalities in Valencia particularly affected by the storm, where they carried out essential functions for public safety and citizen assistance.
During the operation, the agents performed tasks such as public safety, access control, and patrolling. Additionally, they provided direct assistance to the affected population, especially during nighttime hours, and participated in preventive actions to deter potential looting.

The DANA 2024 Honorary Distinction is a recently created decoration by the Ministry of Interior to highlight the work of security and emergency forces that participated in these operations.

This distinction underscores the commitment and solidarity of the Blanes Local Police officers in emergency situations outside their usual jurisdiction, contributing to the recovery of areas devastated by the storm.
