The fund delivery ceremony took place on Friday at the Maria Dolors Oms Plenary Hall, presided over by Mayor Jordi Hernández, and attended by representatives of NGOs and the Cooperation, Solidarity and Social Cohesion Commission.
The total allocation of €68,000 represents a 36% increase compared to 2024. Of this amount, €64,000 will be dedicated to international projects, while €4,000 covers the membership fee for the Catalan Fund for Cooperation and Solidarity. Individual grants range between €7,500 and €12,130.
The seven funded projects are focused on countries such as Togo, Burkina Faso, Senegal, Gambia, Colombia, Mozambique, and Cuba. The initiatives cover crucial areas including the construction of laboratories and schools, education, health projects, and the creation of recreational spaces.
Highlighted projects include dignified education for children and women in rural areas of Burkina Faso, managed by the Association Défit du Poni, and the establishment of a new hospital in Kuwonku, Gambia. Funding also supports the strengthening of community water management in El Carmen de Viboral, Antioquia (Colombia).
