The Blanes Town Council has formalized the addition of seven new members to the Local Police, in an official ceremony where five officers and two corporals took office as career civil servants.

The new officers joining the security forces in the Selva region come from other Catalan municipalities. Specifically, the personnel have transferred from police departments in Palafolls, Vilassar de Dalt, Lliçà de Munt, and Sant Antoni de Calonge.
With these latest additions, the Local Police workforce now totals 84 officers. This figure includes four recruits currently undergoing training at the Public Security Institute of Catalonia (ISPC) before their final deployment.
Looking ahead to the summer, the council plans a significant increase in police presence. The local government intends to open four new permanent positions and hire six temporary officers to bolster the service during the peak tourist months.
