The municipality of Blanes is preparing to host the 54th International Fireworks Competition, an event that attracts thousands of spectators. To ensure safety during the five nights of the pyrotechnic festival, the City Council will deploy a special operation involving nearly a hundred personnel, including police officers, firefighters, civil protection, and health technicians. This security and emergency plan aims to provide effective coverage and rapid response to any incidents.
The maritime safety zone has been extended to 350 meters from the launch center, an increase of 50 meters compared to the previous year. Additionally, access to the Coordination Center at Plaça Catalunya will be restricted from 10:00 PM onwards, and the direct connection between Passeig de la Marina and the streets Mirador de S'Auguer and Travessia de Méndez Núñez will be closed to improve mobility and safety.
Regarding traffic management, the Local Police of Blanes will work to keep the main entry and exit routes of the city clear, preventing traffic jams that could hinder the access of emergency vehicles. Concurrently, the City Council is negotiating with several businesses to open their external parking lots during the fireworks nights, supplementing the already designated free parking areas. Last year, 525 additional parking spaces were made available.
