The municipality of Blanes has begun the evaluation process to revalidate its three 'Flors d'Honor' and aim for the fourth distinction awarded by the Confederation of Ornamental Horticulture of Catalonia.

The evaluation day included a working meeting between jury members, municipal representatives from the Environment department, and the Aspronis Foundation, which manages public gardening services. Following the meeting, the committee toured various parts of the municipality to inspect the condition of green spaces.
During the visit, spaces such as the Pau Casals promenade were showcased, where insect hotels have been installed to promote biodiversity, as well as the Onze de Setembre square, highlighted as a model of urban transformation adapted to climate change.
The City Council submitted a detailed report on actions taken between 2025 and 2026. The document emphasizes water efficiency through the use of reclaimed water, the implementation of drip irrigation, and the replacement of lawns with species requiring less water.
Other initiatives included in the report are the creation of climate shelters, the catalog of protected trees, and the ecological improvement of streams. The final decision regarding the fourth 'Flor d'Honor' will be announced at the annual Vila Florida gala.
