The Plaça Major of Vimbodí i Poblet was the scene this Saturday for the traditional paella contest and popular lunch, an event that brought together numerous residents and groups as part of the 43rd Youth Week.

The activity, which began at midday, saw various groups preparing their paella recipes, bringing their own ingredients and utensils. The organization provided the rice, as well as tables and chairs for the subsequent community meal in the center of the municipality.
Beyond the gastronomy, the gathering served to foster coexistence and camaraderie among attendees, establishing itself as one of the most anticipated events in the summer youth program for the town.
This contest is part of the 43rd Youth Week, which since Monday has offered a wide variety of activities for all ages. The program has included the opening speech, popular games, children's activities, sports tournaments, contests, a scavenger hunt, swimming pool activities, cinema screenings, a classic vehicle exhibition, and an orienteering race, among others.
Music has also been a highlight during the week, with the Festa Jove at the Municipal Pavilion on Thursday and the Coti x Sopi on Friday at Fonts del Gorg, which featured a local market and musical performances.
The celebration continues this Saturday afternoon with the XI Correquintos, which this year will have a Summer Carnival theme, including a prize for the best costume and a subsequent party. On Sunday, the week will conclude with activities such as drawing and dessert contests, an electronic vermouth, and popular dinners, followed by bingo and music. Monday will feature inflatables, a mechanical bull, and football tournaments.
