The Blanes Town Council has introduced the children's book Tornem a l'Aplec del Vilar this March, an initiative by the Municipal Archive to celebrate one of the town's most significant traditions.

Written and illustrated by Nil Domínguez, the story depicts how this popular festival was celebrated during the 1970s. The project is part of the L'Arxiuet educational series, which aims to make local history and heritage accessible to children and teenagers through engaging storytelling.
The launch event took place at the Santuari del Vilar, the traditional site where locals gather every year on the day after Easter Monday. The presentation featured a performance by the Santa Maria School Children's Band and a dramatic reading of the new book.
Local authorities plan to distribute copies of Tornem a l'Aplec del Vilar to all schools in Blanes. This effort ensures that the town's cultural identity and its two main local holidays remain vibrant for future generations.
