The Catalan Skating Federation has awarded an honorary plaque to the Blanes City Council in recognition of its commitment and support for the development of skating in Catalonia.

This distinction, agreed upon during the 7th Catalan Skating Gala held last March at CaixaForum Barcelona, was officially presented at a reception in the mayor's office. The event was attended by the mayor, the federation president, and the sports councilor, among other institutional representatives.
The city council expressed gratitude for the recognition, highlighting the long-standing collaboration with the federation. The federation president, for his part, emphasized the importance of the Blanes Sports City, considering it a benchmark facility due to its amenities and organizational capacity.
Blanes has hosted numerous skating competitions, including the European Show and Precision Championship in 2012. The municipality will continue to host prominent events, such as the Catalan Roller Hockey Championship this May, a referee course in June, and the international Eurockey tournament in the autumn.
The Catalan Skating Gala is an annual event that honors athletes, entities, and institutions that have excelled in the world of skating, bringing together nearly 300 participants in this edition.
