The Blanes Local Police have launched an intensive surveillance campaign focusing on personal mobility vehicles (PMVs) which will run until March 22nd across various locations in the town.

This initiative follows the regulatory changes that came into effect on January 26th. Key requirements for electric scooter users now include mandatory third-party insurance and vehicle registration with the DGT.
The impact of the checks was immediate. During the first thirty minutes of the operation, officers in Blanes issued nine fines for various infractions related to the use of these mobility devices.

"The goal is to improve safety and especially protect pedestrians, the elderly, and children."
