The Blanes City Council issued an urgent warning this Wednesday after detecting several phone scam attempts where criminals pose as municipal employees to collect fake taxes.

Several businesses and residents in Blanes have alerted authorities about these calls. According to victims, the callers claim to represent the local administration to demand outstanding debts. The scammers offer to settle the alleged debt immediately through Bizum or by providing a bank account number.
In response, the municipal government has used social media and its official website to deny any connection to these calls. The council reminded the public that administrative procedures for tax collection are never conducted via direct phone calls requesting transfers.

"The City Council never calls to request payments, whether by bizum, bank transfer, or any other similar system."
