The incident occurred shortly before eleven in the morning, when the affected individual reportedly fell alone on the road for reasons yet to be determined. Initially, the alert suggested a potentially serious accident, as the cyclist was found lying on the ground.
The Emergency Medical System (SEM) dispatched two ground units and activated a medicalized helicopter. Firefighters from the Generalitat de Catalunya and traffic officers from the Mossos d'Esquadra also responded to the scene.
Ultimately, the injured party was treated at the scene and transported in a less severe condition to the Josep Trueta Hospital in Girona. The accident necessitated the closure of the C-63, though the disruption lasted less than an hour before traffic was restored, according to the Servei Català de Trànsit (Catalan Traffic Service).
The causes of the accident are under investigation, but initial reports indicate that no other vehicle was involved in the fall.
