Pre-candidate Daniel Juan was officially ruled out of the FC Barcelona elections this March 2, after submitting only 84 signatures of the 2,337 required to qualify.

The aspirant from la Bisbal d'Empordà visited the Auditori 1899 this afternoon to hand in his collected endorsements, despite knowing he was far from the threshold. Juan, member number 70,761, insisted on fulfilling his promise to complete the process regardless of the final count.

"We are a small and humble candidacy that only wants to build a better Barça. We are not ashamed to present these ballots because we are proud of those who trusted us."

As the Girona-born member exited the race, other contenders showed their strength. Joan Laporta submitted 8,171 signatures, leading over Víctor Font, who presented more than 5,100. Other aspirants like William Maddock, Xavi Vilajoana, and Marc Ciria also submitted their documents.
The electoral board will now validate the signatures to announce the official candidates for the March 15 elections. Daniel Juan reflected on the experience, noting the difficulty for small campaigns to gain visibility in major media outlets.
