The pursuit began around three in the morning near kilometer 29 of the AP-7 motorway, when the vehicle, which had just entered Spain via La Jonquera, ignored police signals to stop. The driver reached speeds of up to 215 km/h, endangering road safety and forcing other drivers to take evasive action.
The escape ended when the car exited the motorway and became stuck in a dead-end street in Riudellots de la Selva. The occupants jumped out of the moving vehicle, causing it to collide with a parked car, and attempted to flee on foot through the woods.
The Mossos d'Esquadra managed to locate and arrest the two men shortly after. During the vehicle search, the 60 kilograms of hashish were seized, valued at 419,788 euros on the illicit market, according to the National Central Narcotics Office.
The detainees have been brought before the duty court in Santa Coloma de Farners. They are charged with drug trafficking, resistance, and disobedience to authority agents, and the driver is additionally charged with reckless driving and damages.
