The latest incident in the Selva region occurred at Fenals beach in Lloret de Mar. Emergency services received the alert at 12:58 PM on Friday after a swimmer experienced difficulties in the water.
Four units from the Sistema d'Emergències Mèdiques, including a psychological support team, arrived at the scene and attempted resuscitation without success. At the time of the incident, the beach had lifeguard services and a green flag was flying.
The operation involved the Lloret de Mar Local Police and the Mossos d'Esquadra, who took charge of the proceedings. Protecció Civil has reiterated the importance of exercising caution, respecting signage, and avoiding swimming if one is not in good physical condition.
