This decision represents a new obstacle for the construction of the educational center, a project that has been awaited for years and currently operates using prefabricated modules. The Education Councilor, Alba Mora, confirmed at the municipal plenary session the receipt of a communication from the department and the need for a meeting to specify the pending details.
The situation contrasts with the previous plenary approval, which had greenlighted the transfer of the plot to the Generalitat, considering it a step forward to unblock the project. However, the councilor from Independents de Sils, Martí Nogué, had already warned of potential difficulties, pointing out that the action was not approved and that there were technical and administrative requirements to be resolved.
“"The Town Council had received a communication from the department and had requested an urgent meeting to ascertain the specifics of what they need to move forward at a technical and administrative level."
The direct consequence of this halt is that Sils remains without a definitive timeline for the new institute. The validation of the plot by the Education Department has not occurred, and the municipality awaits the meeting that should clarify whether the problems are urbanistic, related to services, timelines, or administrative fit. Councilor Mora has assured that the municipal government will not abandon the claim and will continue working to make the center a reality.
