The utility company Endesa will conduct an acoustic drill this Wednesday using 17 sirens at the Susqueda and Pasteral dams to verify the public warning system for flood risks.

The operation will take place between 10:00 AM and 5:00 PM. This preventive measure will involve eight towns in the Selva and Gironès regions, including Amer, Anglès, Bescanó, and Susqueda.
These sirens are part of the Dam Emergency Plan (PEP), which is integrated into Catalonia's flood emergency framework, INUNCAT. Regulations require these systems in areas that could be flooded within thirty minutes of a dam failure.

"These acoustic systems must be mandatory in areas that would be flooded within the first half hour in the event of a break."

The warning points are strategically located, with Amer hosting five sirens. The implementation of this safety protocol is in its final stages, with the official presentation scheduled for after Easter.
