Four educational centers in Selva and the Alt Maresme are among the 100 selected by the Generalitat to install air conditioning systems by June 2028.

The selected centers are Escola Ventijol in Blanes, Institut Ramon Darder in Malgrat de Mar, Institut de Vidreres, and Institut de Santa Coloma de Farners. This initiative is part of the Government's first phase plan to adapt public educational centers to extreme temperatures, prioritizing those with the most urgent situations.
The project goes beyond simple air conditioning installation, proposing comprehensive climate control including mechanical ventilation and the incorporation of renewable energies. The Generalitat will allocate 100 million euros to this initial phase.
This action addresses the increasing difficulty that high temperatures cause in classrooms, as currently only one in ten centers has air conditioning, and many buildings are not prepared for extreme heat.
The plan aims to have all public centers in Catalonia air-conditioned by 2031, with an estimated total investment of 2,558 million euros, requiring collaboration from city councils and provincial councils.
