The plots in the La Selva region are distributed among the municipalities of Maçanet de la Selva (one plot), Lloret de Mar (two), and Tossa de Mar (one), forming part of the total of 37 plots tendered by the Catalan executive across Catalonia.
This initiative plans for the construction of 1,940 public flats in 23 Catalan municipalities, which will be designated for affordable rent for a period of 75 years. The plots are municipally owned and have been ceded by the city councils to meet the accredited housing demand.
“"This first tender is a historic step."
Minister Sílvia Paneque announced that this tender, published in January 2026, is only a first wave and that new tenders will be called throughout 2026 to maintain this stable mechanism for large-scale housing generation.
The tender includes not only the promotion and construction of the buildings but also the comprehensive management of the housing units during the 75 years of surface rights, including property maintenance and social management of the tenants, establishing homogeneous sustainability criteria.
