Lloret de Mar, Pineda de Mar, and Blanes have unveiled a summer agenda packed with cultural and leisure activities, alongside environmental improvements for the coming months.

Lloret de Mar will welcome summer with the “Lloret Outdoor Summer Festival” program, featuring over sixty cultural and leisure events between June and September. This initiative, driven by the City Council, local entities, and the private sector, encompasses concerts, family activities, open-air cinema, fairs, and heritage tours. Highlights include the commemoration of 100 years of sardanes with a special concert by the cobla-orchestra Montgrins on June 20th at the Gardens of Santa Clotilde. The musical cycle “Temps Clotilde” will debut at the gardens' amphitheater, and established events like the Fira dels Americanos, Pride Costa Brava, Clon Festival, and Lloret Drone Festival will return. Activities will extend until September 27th, coinciding with World Tourism Day.
Meanwhile, Pineda de Mar has commenced cleaning and maintenance work on the Pineda river and the Can Feliu de Manola river. The aim is to enhance hydraulic capacity, reduce flood risk, and environmentally restore these areas. Efforts focus on removing invasive American crayfish and restoring native riparian vegetation. In the Pineda river, work covers over 400 meters between Josep Maria de Sagarra street and the Maritime Promenade. These actions are supported by the Catalan Water Agency.
In Blanes, the 31st Theatre Showcase for Public Institutes in the Girona region brings together nearly 500 participants from thirteen educational centers. The showcase, held at the Teatre de Blanes until this Friday, includes 19 theatrical performances prepared by students throughout the year. Participating institutes hail from towns such as Figueres, Banyoles, Ripoll, Roses, Sant Feliu de Guíxols, and Castell-Platja d’Aro. The closing performance will be by students from the El Galliner de Girona Theatre Training Center with the play Vistes panoràmiques des de l’abisme.
Lastly, La Selva hosted the third edition of the Night of Communication in Santa Coloma de Farners. The event, focusing on the influence of algorithms and artificial intelligence on information production and consumption, gathered around 150 journalism and communication professionals from the Girona region. Participants included experts such as Mariola Dinarès, Oriol Puig, and Maria López. A new feature this year was an open forum for direct audience participation in the debate.
