Driver Dies in Accident in Brunyola

A 46-year-old man died after his car went off the road on the C-63 in the Selva region.

A 46-year-old man of French nationality died this Monday morning when his car went off the road on the C-63 highway, in the municipality of Brunyola, La Selva.

The driver, who was the sole occupant of the vehicle, lost his life at kilometer point 31.6 of the road for reasons that are still under investigation. Emergency services received the accident alert at a quarter to eleven in the morning.
Four patrols from the Mossos d'Esquadra (Catalan Police), two units from the Bombers de la Generalitat (Generalitat Firefighters), and four units from the Sistema d'Emergències Mèdiques (SEM) (Emergency Medical System) were dispatched to the scene. As a result of the accident, kilometer-long traffic jams were reported in both directions of the road.
With this fatality, 66 people have now died on Catalan roads this year.
