Six members of the same family, four adults and two children, suffered carbon monoxide poisoning on Tuesday evening at their home in Caldes de Malavella (Girona).

The incident occurred shortly before 11 PM on Llevant street, in the El Llac del Cigne urbanization, when the house experienced a power outage. The family decided to connect a gasoline-powered electric generator to resolve the blackout.
Shortly after starting the generator, family members began to feel dizzy. They opened the windows to ventilate the house and alerted the emergency number 112.

"The Generalitat Firefighters conducted carbon monoxide readings inside the home, which tested positive."
