Storm Nils hit Girona and La Selva this Thursday with wind gusts reaching 100 km/h, leading to the suspension of train services and multiple emergencies.

Firefighters responded to 46 emergency calls since midnight, mainly for fallen trees in Lloret de Mar and Blanes. In Girona city, the wind damaged electrical poles and knocked down fences in the Devesa Park.
Railway traffic between Girona and Maçanet-Massanes was halted due to debris on the tracks. Authorities also restricted truck movement on the AP-7 highway near the French border as a safety precaution against the severe weather conditions.
