The inauguration of the expansion of the Túrsia residence in Tossa de Mar marks a significant step in improving services for the elderly. The project, with an investment of 1.8 million euros, has been financed through Next Generation European funds.
This initiative not only expands the existing facilities but also incorporates a new space designated as a day center. This service is designed for users who require daytime care but continue to reside in their own homes, offering flexibility and support.
The Tossa de Mar City Council considers this expansion particularly necessary given the evident aging of the population and the growing demand to strengthen care resources for the elderly in the municipality.
With this initiative, the Selva region surpasses 10 million euros in European investment allocated to residences, positioning itself as one of the Catalan regions that has received the most resources in this area. Other notable projects in the region include investments in Lloret de Mar, Sant Hilari Sacalm, Caldes de Malavella, and Vidreres.

The Minister of Social Rights, Raül Moreno, highlighted that during this term, 3,200 residential places have already been created in Catalonia, and the Government maintains its objective of reaching 6,000 before the end of the mandate.
