The Vidreres City Council launched the Connecta en Gran application on March 20, a digital platform designed to ensure that elderly citizens receive municipal information in a clear and accessible way.

This initiative was developed by the Catalan startup Bleta and aims to eliminate technological barriers. The system converts institutional messages into visual and direct alerts, avoiding the complex menus that often hinder smartphone use among the older population in the Selva region.
Through this tool, the local government will be able to efficiently communicate public road incidents, cultural activity schedules, or last-minute changes in local services. With this move, Vidreres becomes the tenth municipality in Catalonia to adopt this digital inclusion technology.
To facilitate its rollout, the local government has set up support points at municipal facilities. There, staff will provide technical assistance to all residents who need help installing or configuring the application on their personal devices.
