Lloret de Mar-based driver Miguel Molina, winner of the 24 Hours of Le Mans, will deliver the opening speech for this year's Sant Romà Festival, taking place on November 10th at the Casa de la Cultura.

Molina, born in Lloret de Mar in 1989, was chosen to recognize his exceptional international motorsport career. The Councilor for Culture and Festivals, Vereda López, highlighted him as a "luxury speaker" for the town.
The opening speech has been moved forward one day, from November 11th to November 10th, due to a general strike. The event will start at 8 PM at the Casa de la Cultura. Afterwards, the festival will continue with the traditional "Sopa de l’Àvia" at the Casal de la Gent Gran.
Molina began in karting, winning two Spanish championships and one Catalan championship, before joining the Circuit de Catalunya's Young Drivers program. In 2010, he signed with Audi, becoming the first Catalan to compete in the German Touring Car Masters (DTM). He currently races with Ferrari in the World Endurance Championship (WEC).
Throughout his career, he has achieved successes such as the SprintX GT Championship Series title (2018), the European Le Mans Series (2021), and a third place in the 2022 24 Hours of Le Mans. The pinnacle of his career was in June 2024 with his overall victory in the 24 Hours of Le Mans, making him the third Spanish driver to achieve this feat.
According to Vereda López, with this selection, "Lloret wants to recognize and value the career of a local athlete who has brought the town's name worldwide and who, with his international successes, has become a benchmark in motorsport".
