The Plenary of the Maresme Regional Council approved a motion to denounce the serious deficiencies in the regional rail service and demand a public audit and an investment schedule for the R1 line.

The initiative, which focuses on the main mobility axis of Maresme, was supported by Junts, ERC, CUP, and Ara Pacte Local. Only Vox voted against it, while the PP abstained. This action follows the serious incidents that have recently affected the Catalan Rodalies network.
Among the main demands of the motion are the request for an urgent, exhaustive, and public audit of all railway infrastructure in Maresme. It also demands a clear schedule of investments and actions on the R1 line and the establishment of a direct communication channel between local councils and ADIF to quickly manage incidents and risks.
Parallel to this political denunciation, Renfe announced on Wednesday evening the partial resumption of train service on the R11 and RG1 lines between Caldes de Malavella and Girona.
R11 convoys are now running the route between Barcelona and Figueres. However, the RG1 line continues to offer alternative road transport on the Blanes-Maçanet section due to the repair of the collapsed embankment between Tordera and Maçanet. Furthermore, alternative road transport remains in place between Figueres and Portbou.
