The Lloret de Mar City Council has signed an expropriation agreement to widen the sidewalk on Vidreres Avenue, a further step in the renovation of this key city artery.

The Lloret de Mar City Council is continuing its project to transform Vidreres Avenue, aiming to make it a more pleasant, accessible, and safe route. This avenue is considered the city's backbone, connecting the Old Town with neighborhoods like El Molí and El Rieral.
Today, an expropriation agreement was formalized between the mayor and the owner of the property located at numbers 3-5 of the avenue. This action will allow for the sidewalk to be widened at one of the narrowest points of the road, gaining 155 square meters of public space. The Councilor for Urban Planning, Míriam Rodríguez, emphasized the goal to "continue gaining space for people, eliminating narrow points, and making walking along the avenue increasingly comfortable, safe, and accessible".
Another improvement is planned for number 15 of the avenue. The tender is currently open for the company that will carry out the demolition and site preparation work. The existing facade, which includes elements cataloged as a Local Cultural Asset (BCIL), will be dismantled and preserved in the Cultural Heritage warehouse, as far as its poor state of conservation allows.
In parallel, the drafting of the overall renovation project for this thoroughfare continues. The mayor of Lloret de Mar, Adrià Lamelas, highlighted the importance of Vidreres Avenue as "Lloret's backbone" and expressed the desire for it to "cease to be just a transit route and increasingly become a more pleasant avenue integrated into the city".
