Former Lladurs mayor Joan Vilà Cantó has died at the age of 86, having served the Solsonès municipality for four terms under Convergència i Unió between 1983 and 1999.

Joan Vilà Cantó, who was a professional rancher, was a key figure in the local politics of Lladurs. He held the mayoralty for Convergència i Unió (CiU) for four consecutive periods, from 1983 until 1999.
After completing his last term, there was a four-year break, after which his son, following the family tradition, subsequently took over the position of mayor, holding it for 16 years.
The farewell ceremony for the former mayor will take place this Friday at 11 am at the parish church of Santa Maria de Lladurs, where family and neighbors will be able to pay their respects.
