Riner opens new nursery school in Freixinet with a 161,873 euro investment

The adaptation of the rural school spaces, partially funded by the Provincial Council of Lleida, aims to curb population loss.

The municipality of Riner inaugurated the new nursery school at the Freixinet school yesterday, a 161,873 euro project attended by Minister Esther Niubó.

The inauguration took place on January 10, 2026, and was attended by the Minister of Education and Vocational Training, Esther Niubó, and the First Vice President of the Lleida Provincial Council, Agustí Jiménez, among other authorities.
The project involved a total investment of 161,873.80 euros, of which the Provincial Council contributed 29,330.80 euros. The work focused on adapting the spaces of the Freixinet school to implement the first cycle of Early Childhood Education.

Improvements included installing a new toilet, adapting another for accessibility, and creating a food preparation counter. These modifications ensure adequate coexistence throughout the rural school in Riner.
