The inauguration took place on January 10, 2026, and was attended by the Minister of Education and Vocational Training, Esther Niubó, and the First Vice President of the Lleida Provincial Council, Agustí Jiménez, among other authorities.
The project involved a total investment of 161,873.80 euros, of which the Provincial Council contributed 29,330.80 euros. The work focused on adapting the spaces of the Freixinet school to implement the first cycle of Early Childhood Education.
“"Rural schools are key to retaining the population in the Lleida demarcation."
Improvements included installing a new toilet, adapting another for accessibility, and creating a food preparation counter. These modifications ensure adequate coexistence throughout the rural school in Riner.
“"In the last 15 years the population loss has been considerable and worrying, and the new service will help reverse the dynamic."
The event concluded with the traditional signing of the book of honor by Minister Niubó at the Casa Gran del Miracle, accompanied by Mayor Joan Solà and the participating authorities.
