Ebrenc writer Andreu Carranza has been honored with the 36th Ciutat de Tarragona Pin i Soler Novel Award for his work L'octau clima. The award ceremony took place last Saturday, June 6, at the Teatre Tarragona.

The gala also recognized other literary talents. Ricard Vela received the 26th Vidal Alcover Award for the translation of Rebel·lió al desert by Thomas Edward Lawrence. Meanwhile, Ivan Bonache took home the 29th short narrative award for his project Impermanència.
The event paid tribute to the career of Dolors Udina i Abelló in Catalan literary translation, with the 5th Montserrat Abelló honorary award. The ceremony featured a performance inspired by the work of Olga Xirinacs, who celebrates her 90th birthday this year, and included interpretation in Catalan Sign Language to ensure accessibility.
The Ciutat de Tarragona Novel Award, endowed with 21,000 euros and the Silver Muse of Tarragona, received 165 submissions. The winning work will be published by Angle Editorial. The Vidal Alcover Translation Award-grant, with 12,000 euros, received a dozen projects and will be published by Edicions 1984. The short narrative award, with 1,000 euros, includes publication with Cossetània Edicions.
