Bus Driver Arrested in Vila-seca for Drunk Driving and Not Wearing Seatbelt

A collective transport bus driver was arrested on Friday evening in Vila-seca by Mossos d'Esquadra agents, after testing positive for alcohol and driving without a seatbelt.

The arrest took place during a random checkpoint conducted in la Pineda, within the municipality of Vila-seca. Officers observed that the driver was not wearing the mandatory seatbelt.
Subsequently, an alcohol test was administered, which revealed a blood alcohol content of 0.81 mg/l in exhaled air. This figure significantly exceeds the limit allowed for professional drivers, set at 0.15 mg/l according to article 20 of the General Traffic Regulations.
At the time of the police intervention, the bus was carrying six passengers. The driver now faces potential criminal charges due to the infraction.
