The incident occurred amidst pre-existing traffic congestion on the road, which was caused by maintenance work on the carriageway. According to the Servei Català de Trànsit, one vehicle rear-ended another, and as a result of the impact, the latter overturned.

Two units from the Bombers de la Generalitat quickly responded to the scene to manage the situation. Their intervention was crucial in returning the vehicle to its original position. Fortunately, no individuals were trapped inside the overturned car, although two occupants sustained minor injuries.

The accident necessitated the closure of the left lane of the highway, leading to traffic disruptions. Normal traffic flow was not fully restored until 3:00 PM, after the damaged vehicle had been removed from the road.
