Photographer Carles Ortiz will inaugurate on March 18 at the Qgat Foto space an exhibition documenting the recovery of transhumance from Tarragona to the Pyrenees.

The exhibition, titled Transhumance, is the result of an intense visual follow-up of shepherd Daniel Giraldo. This farmer, accompanied by a flock of 120 dairy goats, has revived one of humanity's oldest traditions: the seasonal movement of livestock through ancient paths.
The journey documented by Ortiz spanned a dozen regions, with daily stages of 20 kilometers. The project highlights the value of an activity that has almost disappeared, inviting viewers to rediscover the relationship between the territory and rural traditions.
The opening event will feature Daniel Giraldo and transhumance scholar Joan Rovira. The photographs will be on display until May 23, 2026, at the Abacus venue, showcasing the rhythm of the flock and the life of the shepherd.
