The Minister of Research and Universities, Núria Montserrat, has called for "tranquility and serenity" among students ahead of the exams, which coincide with the Pope's visit and a teachers' strike. Montserrat assured that "rigorous" work has been done to ensure the smooth running of the tests and that the events planned for the papal visit do not clash with PAU entry or exit times.
Although the minister believes students will already be "seated taking exams" during peak public attendance times, she recalled that there is always "flexibility" to address force majeure situations. She emphasized that the system allows for "a certain flexibility" to start later and extend time when there are justified reasons, a measure that "makes more sense than ever this year."
To address potential disruptions, a "reinforcement" of the staff supervising the exams and "contingency measures" have been planned to ensure the PAU proceeds normally in the 1,500 classrooms set up across Catalonia.
