Hundreds of people gathered this Sunday at the Balcó del Mediterrani in Tarragona to demand that Joan XXIII Hospital provide 24-hour stroke care services.

The protest follows a proposal by the Generalitat's Health Department to limit the service from 8:00 AM to 8:00 PM. Residents argue that this schedule endangers lives in the Camp de Tarragona region, as nighttime emergencies require risky transfers to Barcelona.

"Strokes do not have a schedule."

The absence of PSC representatives at the rally sparked criticism, as local councils in Tarragona, Reus, and Cambrils had previously voted in favor of the 24-hour service. Other parties, including ERC, Comuns, and Junts, supported the demonstration.
