The price of diesel has surpassed the two-euro threshold in Tarragona this March, as international oil markets react to the ongoing conflict in the Middle East.

In the province of Tarragona, 71 out of 226 gas stations have already reached the two-euro mark for a liter of diesel. This represents a 32% increase in just three weeks, forcing local drivers to change their habits and search for the cheapest available options using digital tools.

"Now the consumer looks at the fuel price on their mobile, searches for the best alternative, and plans their route to refuel."

Pere Vilalta · President of the Tarragona Association of Service Stations
Filling a standard tank is now 25 euros more expensive for diesel and 16 euros more for gasoline. Europe remains highly vulnerable to these geopolitical shifts due to its reliance on imports from the Gulf and strict technical specifications for refined fuels.
