The Mossos d'Esquadra conducted a major traffic operation this Wednesday on the T-11 highway in Tarragona to improve road safety after several recent serious collisions.

Officers from the Camp de Tarragona traffic division monitored 439 vehicles at the Les Gavarres roundabout. The radar identified 27 speeding violations, the most severe being a driver traveling at 119 km/h in a 60 km/h zone.
In addition to speeding fines, police reported one individual for driving under the influence of drugs and two others for driving with a revoked license due to a lack of points.
Authorities emphasized that inappropriate speed is a key factor in accident severity. Consequently, Mossos confirmed that these high-visibility controls will continue regularly at this busy junction to prevent future incidents.
