Gimnàstic de Tarragona officially announced this Friday the signing of Japanese player Shinnosuke Katsushima, who will reinforce the club's offensive front for the next two campaigns. The 22-year-old footballer joins from the reserve team of Girona, where his contract has concluded.
Katsushima, also known as Shin, brings versatility to the attack, capable of playing as an attacking midfielder, his natural position, or on the wings. He stands out for his ability to unbalance opponents in one-on-one situations and his skill in creating dangerous chances near the rival penalty area.
Last season, he played 30 matches in Segunda RFEF with Girona B, scoring five goals and establishing himself as one of the team's top scorers. His youth and growth potential were key factors for Nàstic, under the guidance of Tomeu Nadal, to secure his services.
With this signing, the Tarragona-based club continues to shape its sporting project for the upcoming season. Katsushima joins the previously announced arrivals of coach Xisco Campos and defenders Joseda, Manel Royo, José Amo, and Nico Van Rijn, as well as midfielders Toni Gabarri and Eugeni Valderrama, and forwards Johan Prohens and Pere Marco. Guillem Barrès also returns after his loan spell.
