The Camp de Tarragona high-speed train station opened a new free and provisional parking lot with 126 spaces this Monday, ending irregular parking on the road shoulder.

The space, enabled by ADIF, is located adjacent to the station and offers 126 parking spots for vehicles. Until now, high-speed train users had to use the existing paid parking lot or park illegally on the shoulder of the access road.
This action responds to a historical demand from the region, as the Camp de Tarragona station began operating almost two decades ago. To ensure safety, ADIF has also installed concrete blocks and prohibition signs to prevent future parking alongside the road.

This parking lot is a temporary solution while a definitive project is developed, which foresees a low-cost parking facility with capacity for about 600 spaces.

The comprehensive project includes the construction of a roundabout next to the station, which will connect the future definitive parking lot with a new section of road linking the infrastructure with the TP-2031 route. The Department of Territory tendered the drafting of this roundabout project last January 5.
The entire operation is part of a collaboration agreement between the Generalitat de Catalunya, the La Secuita City Council, the Tarragona Provincial Council, and ADIF to improve accessibility to the railway infrastructure.
