The General Council of the Judiciary reported that rental evictions in Tarragona increased by 15% during the final quarter of 2025, totaling 107 recorded cases.

The latest judicial statistics highlight the growing housing crisis in the Tarragona province. Between October and December, the region averaged more than one eviction per day. Total evictions, including mortgages and other tenures, reached 153, marking an 18.6% increase compared to the previous quarter.
Rental issues have become the primary cause of housing loss, representing 70% of all cases. While mortgage-related evictions accounted for only 36 procedures, 107 families lost their homes due to their inability to keep up with rising rental prices.
Although the overall figure for 2025 showed a historical low of 692 total evictions, there is significant concern regarding new foreclosure proceedings. These legal actions doubled in the province last year, reaching 1,352 cases, the highest volume seen since 2016.
