The President of the Generalitat, Salvador Illa, announced this Saturday in Vila-seca that the first phase of the Camp de Tarragona tramway will be finished by late 2029.

During a site visit to the new bridge over the A-7 highway, Illa explained that the project is now expected to be ready a year later than the original 2028 target. The first phase involves a 224 million euro investment to connect Cambrils, Salou, and Vila-seca.

"The tramway will completely transform mobility in the area."
