Emergency services received multiple calls around 9:30 AM reporting a body floating approximately one kilometer away from the cliffs. Two police officers launched a rescue boat from the Port of Torredembarra to reach the victim before it was too late.
A fisherman on the shore played a vital role by providing visual guidance to the rescue vessel. Once on board, the unconscious man, who was only wearing underwear, received immediate first aid to expel water and restore his body temperature while the boat returned to the harbor.
The man was transported in serious condition to the Joan XXIII Hospital in Tarragona. Authorities are currently investigating the circumstances of the incident, as the lack of proper swimming attire has raised questions about how he ended up so far out at sea.
